Digital libraries accumulate large amounts of images, video, audio, texts, visualizations and other data that they distribute to their users over the Internet. During a tour to the Texas Advanced Computing Center (TACC) Visualization Laboratory (Vislab) at The University of Texas at Austin, visitors will learn how students, artists, faculty, and the general public interact with digital objects through the latest technologies in display systems. You will learn how supercomputers are used for data collection development, analysis, preservation, and presentation. You will have the opportunity to interact with scientific, humanities, and artistic digital objects and projects using one of the world’s highest resolution tile displays, a multi-touch tiled screen, and the Oculus Rift, among other systems.
